The theories and models for “best practice manufacturing” are much known to everybody: “Lean Manufacturing”, “Six Sigma”, “Permanent Improvement (KAIZEN)”, “JIT-Delivery”, “Kanban”-based material replenishment, and so on. These programs are crucial and vital for further long term success in the future for all but every manufacturer. Top level decision makers are trying to initiate and cultivate them into their manufacturing organization – to have the right mindset at all internal stakeholders’ levels, such as middle management, supervisors and workers.
In terms of information management infrastructure, many manufacturing companies deploy an ERP system, and integrate their organization into sophisticated SCM setups with external stakeholders, that all leads to a perfect business integration for activities such as sales, CRM, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, MRP/MRPII, production planning, HR, and others. The actual production shop floor is often treated as a “step child”: The IT management infrastructure on the shop floor is very often completely based on pencil & paper (“spreadsheet management”), walking-around, telephone, deadline hunting and fire fighting. These manual activities make it difficult to realize further improvements through commendable programs like “Six Sigma” or others.
A proper & mature IT management infrastructure on the shop floor helps effectively:
The leading Manufacturing Execution System (MES) HYDRA® from the worldwide MPDV Group with 32 years of impeccable history in service and growth provides unmatched information transparency for the operational areas of PRODUCTION, PERSONNEL and QUALITY in your discrete manufacturing environment - simply to make your life easier in scheduling, capturing, viewing and evaluating your production shop floor, along with powerful ERP-system interfaces as well as human interfaces for shop floor supervisors/operators and direct machine connectivity to any machine such as state-of-the-art SMT Machines, Injection Molding Machines, CNC Work Centers, Ovens, Printing Presses, Coil Slitting Lines or simply manual operator fixtures.
When considering the overall project implementation budget for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) HYDRA®, it is only a small fraction of the actual asset value of all workcenters/facilities/materials that are going to be optimized. Considering a performance improvement of each workcenter by just a few percentage points through proper use of HYDRA®, healthy ROI's can be achieved in a very short term. Real life has proven it - in almost every country. We are going to show you how others have done it. Join us – and judge yourself!
