Business Mission to Johor Bahru, Malaysia

A fruitful mission trip accomplished across the causeway!

The SMF recently concluded a business mission co-organised with the Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JBCCCI), a trade association that advocates for the business community in Johor Bahru.

The one-day business mission to Johor Bahru included a factory visit to SMF member Almarc Engineering Sdn Bhd.

On 17 August 2023, SMF Vice President and Honorary Secretary Mr Melvin Tan led SMF members to Johor Bahru, Malaysia to explore investment opportunities. This one-day mission included factory visits to SMF member ALMARC Engineering Sdn Bhd and Malaysian firm Local Tooling Sdn Bhd, offering members a firsthand view of how manufacturing companies operate in Malaysia. Additionally, they attended a seminar with speakers from Nusajaya Tech Park, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and ASQ Consulting Group Sdn Bhd. The seminar provided insights into Malaysia's economic growth, investment opportunities, and supportive business policies.
