20 October 2016 – SMF President, Mr Douglas Foo paid his respects to the late Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore.
Mr Foo bowed to King Bhumibol's portrait and penned a message in the book of condolences, "The world has been very fortunate to receive your kindness and your spirit will love on.”

King Bhumibol, the longest reigning monarch in the world, died on Oct 13 in a Bangkok hospital at the age of 88.
Thai Prime Minister, Mr Prayut Chan-o- cha has declared a year of mourning, and said the people should refrain from entertainment for 30 days in Thailand.
Mr Foo was accompanied by members from the Council and Secretariat of SMF during his visit.
